Telesom funds new conference hall in University of Hargeisa
The Minister of Education and Higher learning Hon Zamzam Adan Abdi cut the rippon to an new conference hall in a ceremony which was attended by senior cabinet ministers, religious leaders, traditional elders and members of the public, Mr. Abdisalaan Ismail Nuur who is heads the Business development at TELESOM handed the keys to a state of the art conference hall to Muse Adan Cabdi the chancellor of Hargeisa University, which will be used by the faculty of ICT and technology.
The occasion was opened with verses from the Holy Qur’an recited by Sheikh Adan Mohamud Hiiray (Adan Siiro) who praised the company for it contribution towards the society. Sultan Mohamed hassan Ibrahim who is the Telesom BOD said, Telesom has funded many of the leading high learning institutions in the country as well as underprivileged students, funds and sponsors social events and it brings awareness to the people of Somaliland.
TELESOM has donated funds worth a sum total of over $50,000 to road projects this year so far, said Sultan Mohamed hassan Ibrahim. In March, the company donated $25,000 to the Wajale road connecting the country to Ethiopia.
They also donated Tens of thousands to streets and roads reconstruction in major cities of the country. Sultan Mohamed added, Telesom recently donated $20,000 the first phase (124-km)of the proposed three-lane passage, dubbed Dawga Aad, will run some 300-km from Hargeisa to the port city of Djibouti.
Prof. Mustafe Eelaabe who heads the ICT faculty at Hargeisa University said the new facility which is equipped with CISCO Access rooter which is capable of delivering a fast, reliable, and secure Internet and network access through various high-speed WAN access technologies will greatly benefit the institution.
